Movement & mindful practices

Begin your mornings with yoga, gentle movement, breathwork and restorative practices designed to help you reconnect with your body.

Creative expression

Explore art-making and creative experiences that invite curiosity, self-expression and play. You don’t need to consider yourself an artist. Come willing to experiment.

Music & sound

Experience Spirit Guitar and intimate live acoustic music. Through sound, storytelling and shared listening, music becomes an invitation to pause, reflect and connect.

Nature & farm immersion

Spend time outdoors, explore the land, enjoy the natural surroundings and experience the rhythms of rural life.

Nourishing food

Share freshly prepared meals inspired by familiar Nigerian flavours, wholesome ingredients and the pleasure of gathering around a table.

Fireside conversations

Make room for storytelling, reflection, laughter and conversations that don’t need to lead anywhere.

Time to simply be

Read. Rest. Wander. Journal. Sit beneath the trees. Nap. Watch the sky. Or do absolutely nothing.

There is no pressure to be productive or participate in every activity. You’re welcome to engage at your own pace.

WHAT MAKES COME HOME SPECIAL?

1. A different way to experience Nigeria

COME HOME invites you beyond the familiar December rush of parties, nightlife and family obligations. Discover the quieter beauty of southeastern Nigeria through its land, culture, people, food and community.

2. Where wellness meets African creativity

This isn’t a retreat built around wellness practices alone. We bring together movement, art, music, storytelling and creative exploration, with African identity and communal healing at the heart of the experience.

3. A genuine connection with the land

Set within the rural landscape of Anambra, NAPPYESE Farms & Retreat Homes offers an opportunity to step away from urban routines and reconnect with nature. Experience outdoor living, open skies, farm life and the restorative simplicity of spending time on the land.

4. An intimate experience, not a crowded event

With only 12 guest places, COME HOME is intentionally small. There is room for meaningful interactions, shared experiences and the freedom to participate at your own pace.

5. A cultural and community purpose

Nkà Ọgwụgwọ is rooted in an evolving vision of communal healing, African creativity, slow living and cultural reconnection. You’re not simply attending a retreat; you’re experiencing an emerging community and a place being built around these values.

6. Space to exist beyond productivity

You don’t have to achieve anything, prove anything or fill every moment. There is room to rest, wander, create, reflect, connect or simply be.

COME HOME brings together the things that make us feel alive: land, body, art, music, culture and human connection.

It’s not just about getting away.

It’s about finding your way back to yourself.

YOUR FIVE DAYS

DAY ONE — ARRIVE

Leave the city behind.

Arrive at the farm.
Settle into your space.
Eat.
Breathe.
Meet the land.

Let your nervous system realise it doesn’t have anywhere else to be.

Arrival · Welcome meal · Land introduction · Sunset · Fireside

DAY TWO — LAND + BODY

Wake slowly.
Move your body.
Eat well.
Explore the farm.
Create something.
Rest.
Listen.
Gather around the fire.

A day with enough structure to hold you — and enough space to wander.

Morning movement · Breakfast · Creative experience · Farm immersion · Free time · Dinner · Spirit Guitar / fireside

DAY THREE — PLAY + PRESENCE

This is the day to let yourself become a little less serious.

Move.
Make.
Eat.
Talk.
Walk.
Listen to music.
Do absolutely nothing.

Whatever your body asks for.

Morning practice · Creative and embodied experience · Shared meals · Nature · Free time · Evening gathering

DAY FOUR — INTEGRATION + CONNECTION

By now, the land should feel a little more familiar. Your body may have found its rhythm. The conversations may be getting deeper.

Take the time to notice what has shifted.

Reflect.
Create.
Share stories.
Enjoy the simple things.
Spend time with yourself and the people around you.

No rush to turn every discovery into a lesson. Just space to let the experience settle.

Morning movement · Breakfast · Guided reflection / journaling · Creative expression · Nature and personal time · Shared dinner · Closing fireside gathering

DAY FIVE — RETURN

A final slow morning.

Wake.
Breathe.
Eat breakfast.
Gather your things.
Say your goodbyes.

And then back into the world — hopefully carrying a little less than you arrived with, and a little more of yourself.

Morning practice · Breakfast · Closing reflection · Farewells · Group departure

The exact programme may evolve with the group, weather and the land. Activities are invitations, not obligations. The intention remains the same: rest, presence, nourishment, creativity and connection.

MEET YOUR HOST — ESE OTOBO

ESE Otobo is a Nigerian wellness practitioner, multidisciplinary artist and social entrepreneur, and the founder of NAPPYESE Wellness and Nkà Ọgwụgwọ.

Her work explores the intersections of holistic wellbeing, African creativity, music, nature and community. Through wellness experiences, artistic gatherings and cultural projects, she creates spaces that encourage people to slow down, reconnect with themselves and discover new ways of relating to one another.

Her journey has taken her across fashion and modelling, international travel, creative expression and holistic wellness, eventually bringing her back to Nigeria to build NAPPYESE Farms & Retreat Homes in Anambra.

As the host of NKÀ ỌGWỤGWỌ: COME HOME, ESE brings together her passions for movement, art, music, storytelling and intentional living to create an intimate experience rooted in African identity, communal healing and meaningful connection.

She is also a singer-songwriter whose music, including her Spirit Guitar project, reflects her interest in music as a space for reflection, expression and emotional connection.

ESE believes that healing doesn’t always have to look like work. Sometimes it happens through a song, a shared meal, time on the land, creative exploration or simply having the freedom to be.

Her invitation is simple: come as you are, make room for yourself and experience what it means to come home.

WHAT YOU MAY LEAVE WITH

  • A quieter mind and more space to breathe.
  • Time to reconnect with your body through movement and rest.
  • A creative experience or something you made with your hands.
  • Meaningful conversations and new connections.
  • Memories of the land, the music and shared meals.
  • A fresh perspective from stepping outside your usual routine.
  • The freedom to experience time without needing to fill it.

Your experience will be your own. You don’t need to arrive with a particular goal or leave with a dramatic transformation.

Sometimes, making room for yourself is enough.

WHO THIS RETREAT IS FOR

COME HOME is for creatives, professionals, wellness seekers, diaspora travellers and anyone who feels the need to pause and reconnect.

It may be right for you if:

  • You’ve spent the year doing, carrying, building, giving and moving.
  • You want to experience Nigeria from a quieter, more intentional perspective.
  • You miss nature and want to spend time outdoors.
  • You want to reconnect with your creativity.
  • You crave meaningful conversation and community.
  • You want space to rest without needing to be productive.
  • You want to explore movement, art, music and nature in a supportive setting.

You can come on your own or with someone you love. You don’t need to know anyone beforehand, and you don’t need previous experience in yoga, meditation, art or wellness practices.

COME HOME is an adults-only experience for guests aged 18 and above.

The retreat is designed for a small group of up to 12 participants, with activities suitable for different experience levels. Guests with accessibility requirements or specific support needs should contact us before booking so we can discuss what may be possible at the farm.

LOCATION: NAPPYESE FARMS & RETREAT HOMES

Ifite Ogwari, Anambra State, Nigeria

Located in the rural landscape of Anambra State in southeastern Nigeria, NAPPYESE Farms & Retreat Homes is an emerging nature-based retreat destination created around slow living, creativity, holistic wellness and meaningful connection.

Surrounded by the greenery and everyday rhythms of rural southeastern Nigeria, the farm offers a setting away from the pace of busy cities.

Guests are invited to reconnect with nature, enjoy open-air experiences, participate in creative and restorative activities, share nourishing meals and experience a more intentional side of Nigerian life.

The destination is suited to intimate wellness retreats, creative gatherings and cultural experiences. Guests can expect a grounded, outdoor setting rather than a conventional hotel or luxury resort, with prepared camping accommodation, shared bathroom facilities and activities shaped by the natural environment.

The wider Anambra region offers opportunities to experience Igbo culture, local markets, traditional food, community life and the landscapes of southeastern Nigeria. Specific excursions and nearby attractions may be explored according to guest interests and the retreat schedule; these are not guaranteed inclusions unless expressly confirmed.

At NAPPYESE, the destination is part of the experience itself: time on the land, connection with people, space for reflection and the opportunity to experience Nigeria beyond the usual tourist itinerary.

Come for the nature. Make space for yourself. Experience a different way to come home.

DECEMBER IN ANAMBRA

December is a special time to experience southeastern Nigeria. As the rainy season gives way to the dry season, Anambra welcomes the festive period with homecomings, family reunions, cultural celebrations and the familiar warmth of community life.

At NAPPYESE Farms & Retreat Homes, this season offers an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, experience rural life, share nourishing local food and slow down beneath open skies.

Expect warm afternoons, potentially cooler and drier mornings, and the possibility of Harmattan conditions. Weather can vary, so we recommend packing comfortable clothing, a light sweater, walking shoes and personal essentials for outdoor living.

What to pack

  • Light, breathable clothing for warm afternoons.
  • Breathable long-sleeved tops for outdoor activities and insect protection.
  • A light sweater or wrap for early mornings and evenings.
  • Comfortable walking shoes or sandals suitable for farm terrain.
  • A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
  • Moisturiser and lip balm for potentially dry Harmattan air.
  • Insect repellent.
  • Personal toiletries and any medication you regularly use.
  • A reusable water bottle.
  • A torch and a power bank.

Come prepared to experience the land, embrace a slower rhythm and discover another side of coming home.

TRAVEL WITH RESPECT. EXPERIENCE WITH AN OPEN HEART.

At Nkà Ọgwụgwọ: COME HOME, we believe meaningful travel goes beyond visiting a destination. It is about connecting with people, understanding local ways of life and appreciating the communities that make a place special.

As our guest in Anambra, we invite you to experience Igbo culture with curiosity, humility and respect.

1. Respect local customs and traditions

Igbo communities have diverse customs, traditions, values and social practices. Be open to learning, observe how people interact and ask respectful questions when you’re unsure about local expectations.

2. Learn a few Igbo greetings

A simple greeting can open doors to meaningful connections. Try learning expressions such as:

  • Ndewo — Hello.
  • Dei-je — A local greeting used in the Ifite Ogwari community.
  • Kedu? — How are you?
  • Daalu — Thank you.
  • Nnoo — Welcome.

Don’t worry about getting everything perfect. The effort is what matters.

3. Dress appropriately for the setting

Comfortable, relaxed clothing is welcome at the farm. When visiting villages, community spaces, religious sites or cultural events, be mindful of local expectations around modesty and dress.

4. Ask before taking photographs

Always seek permission before photographing people, their homes, private property, ceremonies or sacred spaces. Not every moment or tradition is meant to be documented.

5. Support local businesses and makers

Where possible, purchase from local farmers, artisans, food vendors and small businesses. Supporting local enterprise helps ensure that tourism benefits the communities hosting us.

6. Respect the land and environment

Dispose of waste responsibly, conserve water and electricity, avoid damaging plants and respect farm spaces. Leave natural surroundings as you found them.

7. Be mindful of community life

NAPPYESE Farms is situated within a living rural community. Respect neighbours, keep noise at reasonable levels, observe quiet hours and be considerate when moving around the area.

8. Approach cultural differences with curiosity

You may encounter customs, expressions, beliefs or ways of doing things that are unfamiliar. Avoid making assumptions or judgments. Listen, ask questions respectfully and appreciate that communities are not all the same.

9. Respect personal boundaries

Be considerate when interacting with residents, staff and fellow guests. Ask before entering private spaces, touching belongings or initiating physical contact.

10. Leave a positive footprint

We hope your time in Anambra will create meaningful memories and connections. Travel in a way that leaves people, places and the environment better respected and appreciated.

You don’t have to know everything about Igbo culture before you arrive. Come willing to listen, learn, participate and connect.

Nnoo. Welcome home.

ELECTRICITY, CHARGING & CONNECTIVITY

A little less screen time. A little more life.

COME HOME is an opportunity to step away from the constant demands of everyday life and become more present with yourself, nature and the people around you.

NAPPYESE Farms & Retreat Homes operates with limited solar-powered electricity. A few designated solar charging outlets will be available during the day for guests to charge their phones and essential small devices. Charging access is limited and shared, so please plan accordingly.

There is no guaranteed 24-hour electricity supply, and access to charging outlets outside designated periods may be limited.

Mobile network & internet

Mobile network coverage at the farm is very patchy, and phone signals may be extremely weak or unavailable in certain areas. Calls, mobile data, messaging and internet access may not work reliably during your stay.

Please make important calls, download anything you may need and notify family or colleagues that you may be difficult to reach before arriving.

We encourage guests to use this opportunity to disconnect from constant notifications, social media and online demands, and reconnect with the present moment.

Spend time outdoors. Enjoy conversations. Listen to the music. Read a book. Rest. Create. Be.

You are not coming here to stay connected to everything happening elsewhere. You’re coming to reconnect with what is happening right here.

Our recommendation: bring a power bank, ensure essential devices are fully charged before arrival and let important contacts know about the limited network coverage. If you have an urgent communication or accessibility requirement, please tell us before booking so we can discuss what arrangements may be possible.

  • Guests arriving outside the designated pickup windows will need to arrange their own transport to the farm.
  • Return transfer schedules and arrival instructions will be shared with confirmed guests before the retreat.

A note on local transportation

Anambra’s transportation system operates differently from what you may be accustomed to in major international cities. Public transportation and commercial transport services are not available around the clock, and access to vehicles can be limited, particularly in rural areas.

Getting around often requires advance planning. Transport availability, operating hours and journey times can vary.

We recommend that guests plan their arrival and departure journeys in advance, coordinate travel around the designated group pickup schedules, allow sufficient time for road travel and avoid assuming that taxis, ride-hailing services or public transport will be available at all hours.

Our group transfers are designed to make arrival at and departure from the farm easier. However, individual pickups and unscheduled transportation are not included.

A little planning goes a long way.

IS ANAMBRA STATE SAFE?

We understand that security is an important consideration when travelling, especially for guests visiting Nigeria from abroad.

Anambra State has a visible security presence, with security personnel and checkpoints along major roads and routes. Guests travelling to NAPPYESE Farms & Retreat Homes may encounter military, police and other security checkpoints along the way.

For COME HOME, we are making specific security arrangements for the retreat, including planned security support around the farm and during designated group transportation to and from the property.

Our team will coordinate guest movements, communicate relevant travel information in advance and provide guidance throughout organised transfers.

However, security conditions can change. We encourage guests to review relevant travel guidance, follow instructions from our team and take sensible personal precautions.

Our priority is to create a thoughtfully organised experience where guests can feel informed, supported and cared for throughout their stay.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS & PERSONAL ARRANGEMENTS

Guests are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of their own international and domestic travel requirements. This includes:

  • Visas and entry authorisation: Obtain the appropriate Nigerian visa or entry authorisation, where applicable, before travelling.
  • Flights: Book and pay for flights to and from Nigeria, including any domestic connections.
  • Vaccinations and travel health: Check applicable vaccination and entry requirements and seek appropriate travel-health advice before departure.
  • Travel insurance: Arrange comprehensive travel insurance for your journey and stay, including suitable medical and emergency coverage.
  • Personal travel documents: Ensure passports and other required documents are valid and readily available.

Please research entry requirements well ahead of your journey, as visa processing times, vaccination requirements and travel regulations may vary depending on your nationality and country of departure.

The retreat package does not include international or domestic flights, visa fees, vaccinations, travel insurance or other personal travel expenses.

Our team will provide arrival information and coordinate the designated group transfers from Chinụa Achebe International Airport, Umueri, or the GUO Transport terminal in Onitsha, as applicable.

  • Headphones, e-readers and other personal entertainment devices.
  • Personal supplements or medically necessary nutrition products.

NAPPYESE Farms & Retreat Homes will have selected refreshments available for purchase, including healthy snacks, fresh juice and bottled water.

To support our small farm operations, we ask guests to avoid bringing large quantities of competing refreshments, commercial stock, or products intended for resale or distribution without prior approval.

Alcohol, illegal drugs, unsafe items and unauthorised cooking or electrical equipment are not permitted. Please consult the retreat team before bringing anything that may require special storage, electricity or handling.

We also encourage you to bring fewer electronic distractions and make room for the experience itself.

Pack what supports your comfort. Leave room for everything you might discover.

Our meals are inspired by Nigerian home cooking and locally available ingredients.

We may accommodate certain dietary preferences, including vegetarian options, with sufficient advance notice. Food allergies, intolerances and specialised dietary requirements must be communicated before arrival and confirmed with our team.

We cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free food preparation environment. Guests with strict medical dietary requirements should discuss their needs with us before booking.

Are airport and road transfers included?

Group transfers are arranged from Chinụa Achebe International Airport, Umueri, and the GUO Transport terminal in Onitsha at designated pickup times.

Guests must coordinate their travel details with NAPPYESE in advance and plan their journeys around the communicated schedules.

Return transfer schedules will be communicated to confirmed guests before the retreat.

What happens if it rains heavily during the retreat?

COME HOME takes place in a natural, outdoor farm environment. Weather conditions may affect some activities.

If rain or other weather conditions make an activity unsuitable, we may adjust the schedule, move activities to a suitable sheltered area, postpone them or provide an alternative experience where possible.

Guest safety will always take priority over the activity schedule.

Our intention is to create a flexible experience that allows everyone to enjoy the land while respecting the realities of outdoor living.

Are there indoor or covered spaces available for activities during bad weather?

The retreat takes place in a developing farm environment, and covered facilities may be limited. Weather-dependent activities may need to be adjusted, postponed or replaced where possible.

If you have particular accessibility or weather-related concerns, please contact us before booking to discuss the facilities and arrangements available for your dates.

Will the retreat schedule change depending on weather conditions?

Yes. The programme may evolve with the weather, the land and the needs of the group. We will prioritise guest safety and the overall retreat experience when making adjustments.

Is Anambra State safe?

Security is an important consideration when travelling. Anambra has a visible security presence and checkpoints along major roads and routes.

For COME HOME, we are making specific security arrangements around the farm and during designated group transportation. Our team will coordinate guest movements and share relevant travel information in advance.

Security conditions can change, so guests should review relevant travel guidance, follow instructions from our team and take sensible personal precautions.

NAPPYESE Farms & Retreat Homes · Anambra, Nigeria

Come back to your body. Come back to the land. Come back to yourself.

Before you publish this on your website

There are a few details I would verify first so the page is accurate and commercially sound:

  • Cancellation policy: The wording above labels the refund schedule as proposed because it should match the final terms you intend to enforce. Confirm it before publishing as a binding policy.
  • Food inclusions: The current menu states breakfast throughout the retreat, three dinners and daily refreshments. It does not promise three meals a day, so I have avoided that claim.
  • Covered spaces and security: Only promise facilities and security arrangements that will actually be in place for the retreat dates.
  • Transport: Confirm that both airport and GUO terminal transfers are included in the $700 price, and specify the final pickup times before taking bookings.
  • Date and price: This page is written for the 11–15 December 2026 retreat at $700 per person. If you’re creating an evergreen page for future editions, keep the main page general and put the dates, availability and price in a separate booking section.

One final strategic suggestion: use this as your main retreat sales page, but keep the detailed packing, travel, safety, electricity and indemnity information in clearly labelled expandable FAQ sections. That way the page remains emotionally compelling at the top without sacrificing transparency for guests who need practical details before booking.

No meeting, deadline, family obligation, performance, no one asking what you’re doing next.

Just four days to slow down.

To eat well, sleep, move your body, make something with your hands, sit under the trees, listen to music, to laugh around a fire and to remember what it feels like to simply exist.

COME HOME is an intimate 4-night, 5-day retreat at NAPPYESE Farms & Retreat Homes in Anambra.

A small gathering for people who have spent much of the year doing, carrying, building, creating and showing up, and want somewhere to put all of that down for a moment.

You don’t have to arrive with a goal or to fix anything.

You just have to come.

YOU’VE DONE ENOUGH THIS YEAR.

December can become another season of movement.

Flights, family, events, traffic, obligations and noise.

And before you know it, the new year has arrived and you’re exhausted before it even begins.

COME HOME offers another way to close the year.

You’ll spend slow days in nature, around a table with good music and good food, surrounded by people you don’t have to perform for.

A few days where the only thing you really need to do is be here.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU COME HOME?

There isn’t a packed itinerary.

That’s intentional.

Your days have enough structure to hold you and enough space for you to disappear into your own rhythm.

MOVE

Gentle morning movement, yoga and embodied practices to help you reconnect with your body.

REST

Time with nowhere to be.

Read. Nap. Sit under a tree. Journal. Stare into space.

We will not be filling every hour just because we can.

CREATE

A guided creative experience designed to get you out of your head and back into your hands.

No artistic ability required.

EAT

Shared meals made for the retreat, enjoyed slowly and communally.

EXPLORE

Walk the land. Spend time with the farm. Notice the trees, soil, water, sky and changing light.

LISTEN

Music, acoustic sessions and Spirit Guitar moments woven naturally into the retreat.

GATHER

Fireside conversations, laughter and quiet community — without forced vulnerability or networking.

BE

Perhaps the most important activity of all.

Nothing to prove.

Nothing to produce.

Nothing to optimise.

YOUR OWN LITTLE PLACE ON THE LAND

COME HOME is intentionally farm-based camping, not a hotel stay or luxury resort.

We are building something different here.

Each guest receives their own prepared camping tent with a comfortable sleeping setup, giving you your own private space on the land.

You’ll have access to shared bathroom and shower facilities, water, lighting and the communal spaces of the farm.

It’s simple.

It’s intentional.

And it’s part of the experience.

You are not coming to a finished resort.

You’re coming to witness a piece of land becoming something.

NAPPYESE Farms & Retreat Homes is being built slowly, thoughtfully and organically — and COME HOME is one of the first opportunities to experience it as a retreat space.

COME ALONE. COME TOGETHER.

You don’t need to know anyone to come.

And you don’t have to come alone.

Come with your friend.

Your sibling.

Your creative partner.

Your person.

YOUR 5 DAYS

The intention will remain the same: rest, presence, nourishment, creativity and connection.

THIS IS FOR YOU IF…

You’ve spent the year being the person everyone can rely on.

You’ve been building something.

You’ve been creating.

You’ve been caring for other people.

You’ve been making decisions all year.

You’ve been moving constantly.

You’ve been saying, I’ll rest when things calm down.

And things haven’t really calmed down.

Or maybe you’re simply craving something slower.

Something real.

Something that doesn’t require you to become a better version of yourself before you’re allowed to enjoy your life.

COME HOME is for you.

THIS PROBABLY ISN’T FOR YOU IF…

You’re looking for a luxury hotel experience.

You want a packed entertainment schedule.

You need nightlife every night.

You’re looking for a business conference or networking event.

You want every minute planned.

Or you don’t enjoy being close to nature.

This is a small, intimate farm retreat.

The luxury is having time.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO COME BACK AS A NEW PERSON.

There is so much pressure around wellness to transform.

To heal.

To optimise.

To become.

COME HOME isn’t promising to change your life in four days.

Maybe you simply need four days where life doesn’t ask anything from you.

Maybe you need to sleep.

Maybe you need to laugh.

Maybe you need to remember that your body belongs to you.

Maybe you need to hear music under an open sky.

Maybe you need to sit beside a fire with people you met two days ago and somehow feel completely at ease.

Maybe that’s enough.

ONLY 12 PEOPLE.

That’s deliberate.

COME HOME isn’t designed for hundreds of people.

We want enough space for you to actually know the people around you.

Enough room for the experience to breathe.

Enough intimacy for the farm to feel like a shared temporary home rather than an event venue.

12 places.

When they’re gone, they’re gone.

COME HOME

You’ve spent the year going somewhere.

Building something.

Holding something.

Becoming something.

For a few days, you don’t have to.

You can just arrive.

Take off your shoes.

Put your bag down.

Eat something warm.

Look at the trees.

Hear the evening sounds.

Let someone else cook.

Let your shoulders drop.

And remember:

you are a person before you are everything you do.
